As the
battle for healthcare reform continues, Members of Congress will now begin the debate on amendments to this critical piece
of legislation. In doing so, it is imperative that our voices be heard in order to ensure that MEANINGFUL healthcare
reform is passed! We must continue to fight to include a public option in order to ensure competition in the insurance
marketplace as well as demand that our current healthcare benefits not be taxed!
Note that in this fight
there are key players that can make or break this issue. Of particular importance are Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
(NV) and Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee Chairman Chris Dodd (CT). Together, these two legislators
will sit down with the White House to merge together the provisions of the two health care bills that have passed by the Senate
Committees.
Additionally, the following are Senators who will hold key votes in making
sure we are passing meaningful healthcare reform:
Blanche Lincoln (AR)
Mary Landrieu (LA)
Evan Bayh (IN)
Mark Warner (VA)
Max Baucus (MT)
Ben Nelson (NE)
Kent Conrad (ND)
Mark
Pryor (AR)
Tom Carper (DE)
Lieberman (CT)
Wyden (OR)
Snowe (ME)
Collins (ME)
Specter (PA)
We have fought long and hard for good healthcare benefits and must continue that fight by picking up the phone and calling
our Member of Congress and our Senators.
